About the founder

My name is Eric Moro, and my journey into helping others began long before I became a therapist. I was born an identical twin to immigrant parents who came to the United States seeking a better future for their children. Growing up in a working-class, single-parent household, I experienced firsthand the challenges of adversity and instability. Yet, through these experiences, I discovered strength, resilience, and a calling to serve others.

As a teenager, I began volunteering as a wrestling coach for at-risk youth at the same Boys & Girls Club program that once helped shape me. Having been an at-risk youth myself, I understood the power of mentorship and community. Guided by the dedication of my coach—who treated me like family—I became one of the program’s first state champions by age thirteen, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. The discipline, courage, and determination I learned through wrestling, along with the sacrifices of my mother, laid the foundation for my life of service.

After high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Army Infantry, where I pushed myself to excel despite the challenges of discrimination and adversity. I earned two Army Achievement Medals, two Good Conduct Medals, and made the Commandant’s List at two leadership schools before achieving the rank of Sergeant. Following two combat tours in the Middle East, I was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety. Through that struggle, I gained a deep, personal understanding of what it means to live with—and recover from—mental illness.

With the support of caring mentors and a renewed sense of purpose, I turned my own healing journey into a mission to help others. I went on to earn my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and became a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate. I have received training and certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Problem-Solving Therapy, with additional training in Trauma-Informed Care, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Over the years, I’ve served as a Clinical Case Manager, Peer Support Specialist, Foster Youth Therapist, and Medical Social Worker in hospice care.

Today, as the founder of 2Moro’s Wellness, I bring together my personal experiences and professional expertise to help clients find peace, healing, and purpose. I believe in taking a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy—treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. My goal is to build a trusting, collaborative relationship where each individual feels heard, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Above all, I am a husband, father of two beautiful children, and lifelong learner. I am passionate about helping others overcome their struggles and discover their inner strength. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing, growth, and lasting well-being.

Be well, and God bless.
